ABOUT STEPHEN: As for my ministry, I'm serving at a church in Cambridge, MA called Hope Fellowship, where I'm being mentored, leading a community group, leading a men's group, helping with various ministries, and occasionally preaching. As for my education, this is my last semester at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I'll be graduating with my M.Div (Master of Divinity) in May 2012, and I plan on going into full-time, vocational pastoral ministry afterward. For the first few years out of seminary, I hope to take a position as an Associate Pastor. However, we're still waiting for the LORD to provide the right opportunity at a church. There's a possibility we'll remain in the greater Boston area, but nothing is certain yet. In the future, I hope to serve as a Lead Pastor or to plant a church in a major city. In my free time, which is rare, I'm doing a lot of reading, writing, and hanging out with friends around the city.
ABOUT EMILY: My wife, Emily, has recently started a massage therapy job at Healthworks in Back Bay, which is a fitness center for women. She's excited to be a part of their new massage therapy department. She's also gotten more involved at our church, Hope Fellowship, co-leading a community group with me and volunteering in the children's ministry. In her free time, she's been tinkering around with her camera, keeping up on fashion, reading, and hanging out with her lady friends.
ABOUT US: Marriage has been good for us so far, and we're grateful for all the time we've had to invest in one another these first few months of marriage. It's a really cool journey, while at the same time being terrifying. We're learning new things about each other every day, including ways to love one another more deeply. The reality of marriage is new each day, though (in a good way). It is surprising to find how different we each are every new day, and how that challenges us to renew our commitment to loving one another each and every day. Aside from all that, though, we look forward to building our family in the next few years. We'll probably start with a dog or cat and work our way up to a baby. We enjoy living in our little apartment near Inman Square, as it feels like "home" and is also convenient for getting around to all the different parts of the city.
PRAYER: You could be praying that I'll find a good ministry opportunity at a healthy church, that my wife will do well at her new job, that the LORD will provide for us in every way (especially financially!), and that we continue to grow in our love of God and one another.
